The Early Seeds of Worth
There’s something about looking at a childhood photo — especially one where you can see the innocence, the quiet, the wondering — that brings old truths to the surface.
When I looked at that little girl who was me, on the porch with her puppy, I saw someone who didn’t yet know her worth. Someone who felt small in a world that felt too big. Someone who didn’t know she was priceless, or that her life carried a calling.
And the truth is… many children feel that way.
When a child grows up believing they are “less than,” “unwanted,” or “in the way,” it plants a lie deep inside. A lie that can follow them into adulthood. A lie that whispers they are not valuable, not chosen, not protected.
That lie becomes a kind of self‑fulfilling prophecy — shaping choices, relationships, and the way they see themselves.
This is one of the reasons The Refuge of Peace, Justice & Advocacy Center exists and with the help of those who care to support us, will be built.
Because every child — every person — deserves to know they are treasured, seen, and worth fighting for.
And as I continue sharing my story, piece by piece, I’m also sharing the “why” behind this mission.
Because the little girl on that porch grew up…and she learned her worth in the arms of JESUS.
And now she’s building a place where others can find a SAFE PLACE for their hearts, and learn their worth too.
