When God Makes You King

From Ziklag to Hebron: When God Makes You a King.

"For our God is a consuming fire" Hebrews 12:29

There comes a time, as David discovered, when God calls you out of Ziklag and ushers you into Hebron.

A time when the season of survival ends, and the season of identity and authority begins.

A time when God Himself seats you in the place He always intended for you.

It is difficult to explain in human language what this transition feels like.

It is a convergence of mantles, of David & Job.

A purifying of the inner man.

A holy work so deep that words fail and only the Spirit can interpret the groaning.

It is heaviness and glory at the same time.

the weight of wisdom,

the grief of honesty,

the ache of surrender,

the cry of Deep calling unto Deep.

In this place, the heart enters a solitude where worship becomes spirit and truth, not sound and motion.

Character is refined.

Motives are sifted.

Everything false burns away in the consuming fire of God.

This is the realm where the human mind cannot enter —

where surrender is the only language,

and stillness becomes obedience.

Here, the fiery eyes of God search His chosen ones.

Whatever is not of Him is instantly reduced to ashes and blown away by His breath.

Only what is eternal remains.

It is the place where you realize:

God is all you have, and God is all you need.

He becomes your Defender.

Your Protector.

Your Warrior.

Your Rest.

In this refining fire, you are made like pure gold.

Everything and everyone not assigned to your destiny simply falls away.

Everything that can be shaken is shaken, so that only truth remains.

This place is painful.

This place is glorious.

This place is purpose.

It is Hebron —

the first seat of the king God has been forming in secret.
